Day 1: The Wheatleys seize the plane

25 hours on a plane?! Surely we can get there quicker than that, how hard can it be? Oi, come on, outta the way and let us have a go.













So we seized the plane, a 747 no less.

I can't decide if I look excited or if that's the way anyone would look after being awake for 29 hours.....

Ok, there was no siege. We were invited in by the hostess after Tom talked her into it. I don't know whether it was his charm or if he wore her down, but he had her cornered just outside the toilets for an awful long time.

I write this from what Tom describes as a "posh hotel room" and I'd have to agree with him, it is rather nice. We're perched on the edge of Melbourne airport about to get our heads down for some long anticipated sleep...............
